Q: Is a fishing license required?

A: Daily fishing licenses are required by the DNR available at Michigan E-License  and are also available at the time of your charter.

Q: Who needs a fishing license?

A: You must purchase a fishing license if you are 17 years of age or older. If you are under 17 years of age, you may fish without a license, but you are required to observe all laws and regulations associated with fishing in Michigan.

Q: How many people can I bring along?

A: The U.S. Coast Guard regulations specify a maximum of six customers per boat. Multiple boat charters are available for larger parties. Contact Us for more information.

Q: Do I need to bring any fishing equipment?

A: All fishing tackle and equipment are provided.

Q: Who will clean the fish?

A: SHFC has a full cleaning station as well as a fish scaler for your perch at the dock. All fish are cleaned and bagged for you by the Captain and his crew.
